JMU Alum asked:

I’m replacing my floor in my bathrooms. It is the cheap stuff, currently linoleum (?). I don’t know what it is, but the ceramic tile is thicker and I’m wonder if there are any good resources out there that explain what to do in this case. I’m replacing my linoleum tile with ceramic tile. Thanks.

lol–2 wax rings. heh heh. one wax ring will do it–they are pretty thick & always bleed out the excess once weight is placed on the toilet. good luck with your renovations

An inch wax rings are at least couple inches high and compress significantly when installed with small clearance the added height of the added height of the tile even if you put down.
