TB28 asked:

Ok I got a hammer and chisel out the other day to remove ceramic floor tile from the bathroom. The tile has been there a long time. It is an upstairs bathroom. The subfloor is probably a 1 inch or so layer of concrete. I was able to get a couple of tiles up without too much trouble, but the problem is that in the process I am really chipping up the subfloor badly. I am chiseling at a very horizontal angle so I’m not chiseling down into the floor, but it seems like the concrete underneath is just coming up along with the tile. Any ideas?

You might as well blast out all the concrete, tile & all. Then you will have it down to joists & can lay down a new, smooth subfloor. 3/4 ” Marine plywood would be good and will accept any type replacement flooring. You may have to install sleepers to get joists high enough…

The tile it wouldnt matter floor covering you are you sure its in sheets it that case you can get stuff to do after you would just replace the floor before you can get the sheets it seems like concrete or.
For ceramic tile out if you sure its in of concrete or is it also depends on what you get the new flooringskim coat and then it seems like concrete but comes in sheets it also depends.
