Is this a tacky idea for my ceramics class project?

I have to do a large vase with two handles and I just came up with the idea to do an oval-shaped vase with a peacock on it.

I think if I sketch it out on paper beforehand and use the paper to somehow transfer the design, I think I could make it look good.

But would a big peacock drawing/design on the side of a vase look tacky? I’m trying to think in terms of: if I saw that for sale in a store what would my reaction be?
