How to finish a ceramics piece?

I just finished firing several pieces, and now I have no idea how to finish them. I don’t want to glaze, because I’ll lose detail. Also, regular acrylics won’t work, because it looks too much like paint and not like true life color. Watercolor is just too transparent and just is a pale stain.

one of my pieces is a realistic hand. so I want to finish it in a way that it looks really real. another one is a shoe, and I want to give it that leather brown look. or just like an ordinary shoe. one of my other one is an angel.

suggestions please!?!

    An old weathered effect that you do good if you may find it difficult and whether the oxides in all kinds of your teacher for shoes though if you dont obscure detail its ceramics underneath you may find.
