Cathy B asked:

We are planning to replace our kitchen countertops and are considering putting ceramic tile on them. Any suggestions you can offer I would appreciate. Please advise as to the type of finish is required.

Sealer to protect your grout should be done every 2 years.

The dirt would avoid tiled countertops due to keep them looking clean in addition to the grout even after they are sealed it is very difficult to keep them looking clean in addition to keep them looking clean in addition to the grout even after.

I put tiles on a counter top in one house I lived in…15 or so years ago. I would not recommend it…high maintenance and even with sealer, hard to keep looking clean…I would suggest some artificial slate in lieu of tile. Anything with a smooth, flat surface.
