blondie asked:

I have a tea cup sized design that I would like made in pottery or ceramic. A small batch of say 200 peices. I live in West Midlands and would prefer someone fairly local. I know Stoke is the best place for pottery but where do I start asking?
Many thanks.

JMU Alum asked:

I’m replacing my floor in my bathrooms. It is the cheap stuff, currently linoleum (?). I don’t know what it is, but the ceramic tile is thicker and I’m wonder if there are any good resources out there that explain what to do in this case. I’m replacing my linoleum tile with ceramic tile. Thanks.

luis g asked:

I am a ceramic designer from Argentina, and I am currently interested in making a stoneware vinegar crock. I know there should be a spigot which enters the ceramic crock through a cork (to ensure tightness, I guess…). But donĀ“t really know how the upper lid should be. Should it also be 100% airtight, or on the contrary, should it just sit like a teapot lid does, allowing some air circulation?

So I’ve made all my pieces but now it’s time to carve them. Everytime I do this I end up ruining them! Usually they fly off the wheel even when I think I have them secure. Any tips?

ds asked:

I’m going to be installing ceramic tiles in our small basement bathroom myself. We have ceramics in our foyer, hall, kitchen and other bathrooms from the builder and I have never had any trouble in the past 5 years we’ve had them. But, I keep hearing that ceramic tile with ’shrink’ and look terrible after time. When/how does this happen and how can I avoid it happening in my new installation??

Nikki asked:

I’m looking for a ceramics studio in the Milwaukee area where I can stop in to paint a pre-made vase, picture frame, or whatever. I’m just looking for a one-day activity, no classes involved. It would be great if it’s kid-friendly, but that’s not necessary.

I’ve checked Yahoo Local and other similar search engines, but didn’t find quite what I’m looking for.
