Who has ceramic tile in their house? Now I don’t just mean the bathrooms and kitchen? But I mean in the living room and all? Why do you have this? I see the appeal for having hardwood floors, but tile? Whats the purpose? You have to sweep or vacuum the whole floor every day and then you have to mop it, and lets not forget the grout in between the tile. You spend more time cleaning the floors than anything else and they are not very nice for tired aching feet. And if you have tile, do you have kids? Aren’t you afraid that they will get hurt if they fall? My two year old fell out from between our sectional and got a really good goose egg on her head. We have a rug in front of the couch but not behind. It seems like if you are going to spend alot of money on area rugs b/c you have tile don’t you think it would cost them same to have carpet and have them cleaned quarterly?? Thanks for taking time to answer.

We have a 3000 square foot house that is 12 years old. Every bit is ceramic tile. It is really very easy to take care of.

We chose a tile that has a stone look to it and a very dark grout. It really doesn’t have to be mopped every day and it holds up better than wood. It also doesn’t trap a lot of mold, dirt, lint and other stuff that carpet does. Kids and dogs can not damage it.

We do have some area rugs but they can be rolled up and taken to a local company that cleans them for us.
