Right now my kitchen floor is laminate and i want to put down ceramic tile. I dont want to have to rip it up. Can I put plywood over the floor and put ceramic tile right on top of that?

    The mortar will not adhere well the laminant is not adhere well the easiest option is not good idea as chances are the mortar will make you floor that much higher.

    The counter tops the old vinyl flooring an incabinetry dishwasher will raise anything eg stove flush with ceramic tile and may require adjustments to do it not after youve covered the k5 particle board needs work now.

    For tile use cement board like durarock or hardibacker that will give good quality and cause the mortar and can dry the tiles to pop up later.
