lovin life asked:

I love the look of ceramic tile in a kitchen but we live in an 80 year old house and do not want the weight and preparation of ceramic tile. Are there any products that look like tile but are more like the pergo type flooring? The kitchen floor buts up to wood flooring and I definitely do not want a wood type finish. I want something totally different.
THanks!

I got wood 7 years ago and still don’t regret it. I also got a high gloss, hard polyurethane finish.
It is comfortable on freezing days or warm days. Things don’t break or dent if they fall. Water spills haven’t hurt it either. You can do it up with unusual area rugs to get totally different looks.

Nowadays they make laminates and vinyl’s that are pressed to look like ceramic tile. Take a trip to several local hardware stores and specialty places to see what you’re best options are.
